Data classification

In business intelligence, data classification is used to organize structured and unstructured data into categories to make the data more searchable. Data classification can categorize information based on file type, meta data, content and more.

Data classification makes it easier to explore and understand data sets, especially when working with raw data. Organizations can make decisions quicker once its information is classified and ready for in-depth analysis. Many technologies can be used to classify data, including artificial intelligence and optical character recognition.
